Chapter 10INTRODUCTIONThe word Christian is used three times in New Testament (Acts 11:26;0226:28; 1 Peter 4:16).02Followers of Jesus Christ were first called Christians in Antioch (Acts 11:26) because their behavior, activity, and speech were like Christ. A true Christian is a person who has put his or her faith and trust in the person of Jesus Christ and believes that He died on the cross as payment for sins and rose again on the third day to obtain victory over death and to give eternal life to all who believe in Him.John 1:1202tells us: But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name. A true Christian is indeed a child of God, a part of Gods true family, and one who has been elected before the foundation of the world (Ephesians 1)02 and has received eternal life because his or her name is written in the Lambs Book of Life. The mark of a true Christian is love for others and full obedience to Gods Word (1 John 2:4; 1 John 2:10).As born-again believers of the Message, our whole attitude changes when we come in contact with the revelation of the Gods Word. Our whole outlook changes from earthly to heavenly. We no longer live for this world. We now live for God and for His kingdom. We now love to serve Him, to seek His perfect will, and to fellowship with Gods people. We have learned to love to go to church and to fellowship with other believers. By faith, we begin to overcome the things of the world. The l*st of the flesh, the l*st of the eyes and the pride of life, these things are dead to the true believer. Jesus said, If you love Me, obey my commandments02(John 14:15) . He gave us the greatest commandment of all, saying, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, with all thy mind, and with all they strength: this is the first commandment(Mark 12:30).The Apostle Paul admonished us, Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord).02Romans 13:11-14And that, knowing the time, that now [it is] high time to awake out of sleep: for now [is] our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. Let us walk honestly, as in02the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to [fulfil] the lusts [thereof]. Drugs, drinking, parties, dirty movies, even defiling our body with alcohol and cigarettes, all these have become repulsive to a true Christian. Illicit sex, lying of any kind, cursing, jealousy, rumor-mongering, and other fruits of darkness and unbelief, we endtime believers have grown to hate these things.Brother Branham, Gods prophet to this age, has restored to us some important issues concerning the Christian way of life. This chapter deals with what is most significant to every true end-time believer.CHURCH ATTENDANCE IS A MUSTWe feel that every person is duty bound to attend some church and belong to some church as a Christian. Many people say, Oh, I stay home and read my Bible. Im just as well off. No, the Bible said we shouldnt forsake to assemble ourselves together. Weve got to do that; weve got to stand together, and all the churches. You ought to have a place, not just to float about from pillar to post, but have somewhere that you go to church and you call it your church, somewhere you pay your tithe, and somewhere that you help support the cause.02Take your choice, but then dont never disfellowship the other man because he dont belong with your group. See? Discern his spirit and see if hes got the same purpose in heart, then you got fellowship one with another. Youre working for one great cause. Thats the cause of Christ. If God is in your heart, you cant hardly wait for them doors to open out yonder to get in here to fellowship with your brothers. The Bible said, Not forsake our assemble ourselves together, and that much more as we see the time coming.02If youre a Christian, you long to go where other Christians are, and fellowship with other Christians. So you cannot stay away from church and live the same life. Youyou cant do it, because its like, Im hungry, but Ill never go to a table. I just... Ill never eat. I justI aint going to do it. See?02Youve got to go and feed on the Word of God, and fellowship one with another. We need one another more now than we ever did need each other, is now.02When you get yourself singled out from the rest of them making yourself just a little different, you dont want to associate with them because they believe this, and dont want to associate with that,02youre getting on dangerous ground, right then, keeping away from church. Find the one of your choice, and remain there, and be a Christian brother to all of them. Thats the way to be a real Christian. Then weve got fellowship, protection; people love you and pray for you. They go anyhow.02Theyll walk through rain. Theyll go to...02Theyll go through death to go to church. Sure. They love it.0202Its their life. If they dont, theythey feel like their perishing. Sure. Praise God, the Holy Ghost has come; Hes the teacher. When02you get that idea, youre just wrong.02For why did the Holy Ghost set teachers in the church if He was going to be the teacher? See? There are first apostles, prophets, teachers, evangelists, and pastors. The Holy Spirit set teachers in the church, so He could teach through that teacher. And if theresit isnt according to the Word, God doesnt confirm it, then it isnt the right kind of teaching. It must compare with the entire Bible, and be just as alive today as It was then. Theres the real thing made manifest. (HEBREWS CHAPTER5 .AND.6.title02 JEFF.IN02 HEB02 57-0908M)You go to church. Dont sit at home, go hunting, fishing and so forth on Sunday, dishonoring the resurrection of Jesus Christ Go to church wherever the Church door opens, you take off as hard as you can go.
