Looking almost exactly like its lesser-featured brother, the 5200, and even measuring up with the exact same dimensions (though it weighs in a touch heavier), Nokia has announced the 5300 slider-style music handset from Open Studio in New York today. Looks are where the similarities end, though, as the Nokia 5300 includes a boost to almost every feature when compared to the 5200. Nokia has included a microSD memory expansion slot, supporting up to 2GB memory cards, for the user to store MP3, WMA, M4A, AAC, AAC+, or eAAC+ format music, and a set of music keys on the side of the handset allow for easy navigation around the audio library. Up to 12 hours of music playback can be achieved from the 860mAh battery, and a 2.5mm headphone jack plus an adapter for 3.5mm headphones is included.
Apart from music, the Nokia 5300 also sports a good list of other features. A 262k color TFT display with a QVGA (240x320 pixel) resolution is included, and the 5300 has imaging covered with a 1.3 megapixel camera. Bluetooth and USB take care of short-range connectivity

While European markets will get the Nokia 5300 during Q4 this year for around 250 Euro (USD320), Nokia has also stated that the device will be available in a US variation some time in Q1 2007.
