Samsung SGH-X820 claims throne of thin

image

Besting its own record, Samsung's SGH-X820 measures a mere 6.9 mm yet manages to pack a landscape high-resolution screen, 2 Megapixel camera, EDGE, stereo Bluetooth audio, TV out and more.

Making a mockery of its own SGH-P300 and SGH-Z150 models, Samsung's SGH-X820 achieves the most impressive size-to-features ratio yet to be seen in a handset even from the gadget-obsessed Korean maker. At 113 x 50 x 6.9 mm and 66 g, the carbon fibre shell of the handset hosts a stunning array of features including a 1.9-inch high-resolution display in landscape orientation which also doubles as a viewfinder for the built-in 2 Megapixel camera which in addition to snapping stills also records video.

Although bereft of memory expansion, the SGH-X820 is equipped with 80 MB of onboard memory, from which MP3 and WMA audio playback is possible along with video playback either to the internal display or through TV out. Alternatively, users can resort to stereo Bluetooth support for listening to music, while a suite of Office file format viewers tend to business needs - as do quad-band GSM and EDGE support.

The Samsung SGH-X820 is expected to be available throughout Europe in the 3rd quarter of 2006.
