Clarification about Windows Mobile Crossbow

Just recently we were reporting about next major upgrade of Windows Mobile - Crossbow and now we have some more precise information when it comes to release dates...

More precise release dates are:

yet in this year a ready to manufacturing version of Windows Mobile Crossbow will be shipped by Microsoft Corporation to hardware manufacturers/operators
however due to the fact that hardware manufacturers need some time to design and manufacture phones based on the new O.S. and mobile operators (aka wireless carriers) need some even more time to carry out trials, realistically speaking end users of Windows Mobile phones may expect that first handsets powered by Windows Mobile Crossbow (next major version of Windows Mobile) will appear on the market in second half of year 2007

Conclusion: the whole cycle from Microsoft, through manufacturers and then through operators, is quite long and although the first step will be made by Microsoft yet in this year, users should not hold their breath and wait for phones powered by Windows Mobile Crossbow but should instead continue buying handsets powered by good old Windows Mobile 5.0!
