The first game had often really poorly fitting battle music.

The games also have a very noticeable Visual Novel style of approach. The story and character sequences look similar to Fire Emblem's but are still a lot more closer to a real visual novel and the story itself is also Anime/VN-like fantasy stuff with some harem elements (also part of anime/VN culture) *

So the games are basically SPRG/light-weight VN cross-overs.
also some people like to call SRPGs TRPG but basically it's the same thing.
