there is a process in a task manager that is taking over the screen? esc usually ends video games fullscreen. maybe some developer test feature activated in your software? unwanted software like virus? could be. is it a new installation? if not i could say unwanted software, you could even try in your startup autorun places eliminate what is not necessery and descover what causes the problem. temporarely disable aero and see will the problem still happen
