Islam is designed that way. Its in the quran and in the hadeeths tbat you are supposed to kill all stubborn infidels. Its only the muslims in western countries where they need to conform to peaceful coexistence that came to adopt a softer approach and make as if islam is a peaceful religion. Just read the first 50 verses of surah 9 to see how much violence is preached.
The most prevalent excuse is that the violence was only for self defence. But in reality it always were pro- active ,'self defense'...
