You've been missing out. Sausage casserole with creamy mash is one of my all-time favourite comfort foods. I have been reading through many of the recipes there. There even was an oven baked sausage recipe. I'm going to try them all. I see one could even add bacon and beans. I'm going to improvise a bit and add other stuff too.
