Subject: Hard to make real open friendships

It's unlikely to come after working for the last 20 years, and the last few years I've been happier/less stressed by just saying whats comes to mind and being honest - whether people feel it's appropriate or PC or not.....I've also worked in alot of jobs in alot of different places in alot of different sectors.
I always seem to miss alot of parties but I think a general consensus among previous colleagues is that I'm good fun when out but a bit focused/serious at work.....but it's like Shadows comment - the primary purpose of work is work!
Anyway thanks for replies, I just wondered if others had similar experiences etc. Also @Crail interesting comment however I haven't spent alot time around Nigerians.
