those statistics are bulls**t.you can count the number of computers which were sold with windows and the number of win CDs purchased but you cannot determine what someone is using at the moment.people multi boot or remove windows and install something else with time.also those statistics are based on market share.Linux is not for sale.you cannot determine its market share.
