Is it really any surprise? Whether you're a mild Christian or an extremist Muslim (or vice versa), you are suffering under a delusion of the ridiculous and the thing about delusional people is that the more their delusions are enforced by those around them, the more likely a person is to follow that delusion to a bitter, sometimes destructive end.
