rogue took marvel girl's powers, that's why she could fly. the writers wanted her to be mystique's real daughter, but did a u-turn and she just became adopted by her for a while. same with how they originally planned sabretooth as being wolverine's dad, so they started hinting towards that, then dropped the idea... and charlize theron? eh? she's not mystique in the new film, or the old one.
