Whatever car you drive, if it's modern then you should get a diagnostic reader for it. Your car has a plug hidden in the dashboard for it. It doesn't tell you everything but it can be a valuable aid to assist with bugs. A kinda modern Haynes manual.

If you're prepared to spend money, there are devices that allow you to personalize your car's behaviour (such as how long headlights stay on after switching off the ignition, whether windows close on the key buttons, etc). I've made countless settings changes on my R56 Mini, so now there's no lights when unlocking and the pulse indicators turn off after just 2 flashes etc.
