Have u tried using Ponster a modded Postern app for Android with shadowsocks built in? It's very fast here in Australia. Or try modding a VPN with a handler settings. TCP protocol works great but UDP needs to tunnel through a DNS. HTTP Injector is good too but so much mucking around trying to find a free squid proxy and SSH servers. Or the easiest to use is Psiphon. I got all the latest release if u need to try. * +

Not free or a hack but on EE you can get data boost every 3 months if you're topping up regularly. Best payngo data plan on EE is the 15 data pack... 500 mins unlimited text and 5gb data..... but you can find better SIM only contract deals if you're willing to commit on a direct debit. *
