At home i use the desktop for all my surfing tho. Too used to a setup with a good big screen and mouse. after using a 34inch ultrawide for multi tasking i cant go back to a 16:9 screen. Would even go for a super ultrawide next. * +

Prices are good compared to the original price but the older gen prices that used to be make them still look bad. the xx80 series cards used to be 500usd now the 4080 will come in at even more than the crazy 2080ti was. Cant believe how cheap the 1080ti was compared to what performance jump it offered. * +

the 4 series cards are power hungry...the 3060ti looks ok for my 550 watts psu.. currently 449 dollar for the zotac card hopefully by december its at msrp * +

Tthe 3070 and even more the 3080 have spikes. Not recommended to run with a bad brand psu. I have the recommended spec 750w corsair psu but even with that i undervolted my 3080. In the end lost no fps in games but the card draws 50watts less and rund alot cooler. Even the fanspeed dropped in gaming. I was getting 1875mhz core clock on over 1mv in out of the box settings drawing 340 watts. Now im getting 1920mhz on only 0.85mv pulling 280watts. Dropped 5 celcius even with the fanspeed lowered. If it kept the fanspeed it would be even more gain ofcourse. The chips these days are so over pushed to the marketing numbers there running very inefficient. If you test out the silicon yourself you find much better sweetspots. Will undervolt my next cpu also. Nothing gained only lost with high voltage pumped into them. * +

They were smart not to release the 4060 this way they can keep the 3060 level cards priced higher. If i was you i would even look at the amd 6600 it beats the 3060 in many games. 3060 is too weak for ray tracing anyway. Only good usable thing on the nvidia card is the dlss 2.0. Its great if your gpu struggles with a game. Boosts up framerate alot. Have no experience with amd version the fsr. * +

How is your experience with ddr5 so far? Its the early days and all.

Well the Intel platform was a bit of pain as it took 3 kits before I could get a stable system speed making very litte difference at all.... I tested all from 5400 to 6400mhz not even 1 percent better performance difference. The sweet spot was 5600 . The amd system was no problem at all and worked first time with with 5200mhz kit , should have gone faster as Im only using the integrated gpu as this system is under the tv as a media system and occasionally gaming and the gpu on the cpu is pretty decent . * +
