fx 8350 pmpl.gif actually when i came home my pc wasnt booting at all..so looked like a psu or mobo issue so i decided il just get a new one time to upgrade

That is a good upgrade the fx8350 was a struggling amd chip. That 3600 will be alot faster. Also good to have the latest platform nvme ssd support and faster usb ports. * +

Those old chips with less cores and clockspeed are starting to show there age in games. The fx8350 was a fake 8 core sharing cache pools and the core to core performance versus intel was bad. I had a i7 3770k the contender against the fx 8350 back then. It was bottlenecking a gtx 1070 and back then the games were not using the amount of cores what the new games use now. Even a 6 core if you stream your game can bogg up. The 3000 series ryzen has intel level ipc already so it will do good. A 6 core now is a must have for gaming now. * +

yea the reason i got the ryzen 5 3600 , was planning for the ryzen 7 3800x but after thinkn twice i realized i wont be even gameing on 1080pi or 2k why spend on sumtng i wont make full use of. so checkn the 3600 vs 3600X had similar performance and nothing gr8 and also the 3600 was cheap than the 3600x * +

The 3600 will work great for 2k and 4k. The higher the resolution the more the work is harder on the gpu and it wont tax the cpu so much. High framerate that comes on a 1080p screen with high refresh rate taxes the cpu more. The 3800 is not worth its price over the 3600. If someone needs the extra 2 cores for something the cheap last gen 2700 is a good choice. I got a 2700x because it was cheap and i want to get a 3950x later for cheap as a upgrade path. My z370 intel platform already was maxed out with the 8700k so no upgrade path on that. * +

Am4 platform had a great upgrade path. Those who bought a ryzen 1600 with a b350 board back in 2017 can still get the 3950x if it has decent vrms to work on it 3 years later. Intel just demands a new socket every time. * +
