Intel won't support DDR4 fully in their consumer chips until 2015 anyway. Broadwell isn't supposed to support it on consumer parts. Only Haswell E which will be the Uber end stuff again those 8 cores Intel launch for the first time on the X99 chipset * +

Imay just go with a x99 build this time , its stupid expensive but the longevity if the platform will be worth it. will drop a haswell refresh in current build and a new gpu when maxwell arrives . Not going hi end on graphics this time as they are not really needed at 1080p .Then build a monster x99 build at the end of the year * +

A good choice in my opinion although we'll find out for sure in 6 months. X99 is supposed to be a long term platform. 2 and half to 3 years, with Broadwell E compatibility into the fairly distant future allowing at least another generational CPU refresh to drop in (supposedly).

Akin to buying an LGA 1366 Bloomfield setup which of course to this day over 5 years later is still an excellent platform. Expensive at the time, but worth it in the long run. * +
