jeez guy. i pointed out the other day in another 5870 topic there is no point in buying an oc'd gfx card when all you will get is 1 or 2 and i mean a maximum of 2 fps on yer games. you may as well just get a refrence card and save some money. * +

the reference card has bulls**t cooling. would have ended up having to buy a gfx cooler for about 40 quid just to get it up to 915.. personally i can't see why my choice of card is so offensive * +

Depends what case you put it in. i have heard them and i have seen their temps, not amazing i admit but not unacceptable for a high end card. personal opinion of course * +

i have the poswer colour and im idling now http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh314/jaymack71/Capture13.jpg this is with the refrence cooler. my case fans are down at minimum 2 so the pc is currently wisper quiet.may max temp is around 83 degrees if i just let ati control manage the fans but i just set manual fan control to 35-37 percent depending on ambient and get a perfectly reasonable 70-73. * +

the thing is the refrence cooler on the card is efficent, and the revies i have read on 3rd party 1s basicaly say theres little or no difference with any of em, untill you go liquid. add that to the fact that oc'n the card dosent yeild any perfomance increase i gotta come to the conclusion your throwing money away for nothing. * +

relly if your gonna spend an extra 100 quid on a card for cooling then go liquid. it will yield better oc results even from a refrence board. * +

yeah but if i f*nny about with water cooling and overclocking the reference board i'll invalidate my warranty, then if i do sh*g the card cos i generally never bother oc'ing my gfx, i'm 300 sheets down aren't i? besides, where'd you find a 5870 for 240 quid mate? * +
