amazing machine and makes windows look and run like the s**t it is . Will never buy another windows laptop

what's your voltage at 4.9 on the 4790k ?
mine starts to need serious juice above 4.8, my cooler can't keep up.
I'm fairly n00b, so i declared above 4.8 as unsafe for my wallet

I couldn't find a reference design without ordering one in from god knows where, but they should look alright with waterblocks. If they ever arrive
I clocked the reference card up to match the gigabyte for the standard profile. * +

Well this is my second 4790k as the first wasnt stable at 4.5ghz so i sold it on and got a hand picked overclocked chip from overclockers . It is rock solid at 4.9ghz with 1.36 volts going through it and it will even reach 5.3ghz super stable at 1.4v but the temps shoot through the roof ,if i had it under water it would probrably be fine . I only run it at 4.9ghz if needed as its easy as booting dual bios and running a diffrent profile .Although with the energy saving features on the cpu drops stupidly low that the fans switch off . * +

Love that cooler on the gigabyte g1 .It looks awesome in a black case with its backplate and understated looks . Not a fan of the glowing graphics though . * +
