Hi, iv gt a 500gig sata hdd, which i want to use as a slave in my other pc, bt, as soon as i plug the sata hdd in, my system, which is on a smaller ide hdd, vanishes. And it only sees the sata hdd as a master, regardless of the other drive, which is the master drive. Both drives are visible in the bios, tho. The sata s working fine as a slave in my other pc, which s a bit slower, bt not in my new pc. Plz help. Thnx * +

Have you made sure to check the jumpers on each hdd are set correctly? * +

Bt, y s the sata working in my older pc, bt nt in my newer one? When i plug it in, the sata s overruling the ide hdd, which is the master drive. * +

Does the line persists, what so ever you do, from starting the lappy to shutting it down, you will have to return it to the vendor if the warrenty period isn't over, or otherwise consult a repair/tech/shop, IMO. * +
