What exactly is being updated? 80 pounds sounds like a lot no matter what it is they are updating, hardware or software. * +

That MacBook can and should be updated to 10.6.8-find the disk on eBay for much cheaper than 80.00. And then after installing all of the updates, go into the App Store and get OS X 10.7-depending on your specs of course. Also, what are your specs? *
