Yes if you install sensors and some software your computer can become aware of its surroundings. Cameras for image recognition, laser range finder, ultrasonic for close range, GPS to find its location, microphone for hearing sound, voice recognition. Temperature sensors, infra red.etc etc... * +

Being aware of the surroundings is not self awareness.. Notice the 'self' part. I would guess you would need real (whatever real might be) artificial intelligence before self awareness. * +

NO!! But in years to come there will be a point of ''Singularity'' when a computer will no longer need a human to become smarter, can't imagine them ever talking over the world tho, even if they treid it would be easy to stop them with ''EMP'' unless they was to develop an ''EMP'' Shield then we are fkd lol * +
