I have a sony vaio , last night it just stopped working, i heard what sounded like a spring twnging from the box thing thats attached to the cable, now it is dead. What cud it be, can it be repaired. Its insured * +

The transformer. You can always check by taking it to someone who has a transformer with a similar rating and using it, a Pc shop would probably give you a bit of help if you don't know anyone. If its the transformer, then a simple replacement would do. Usually you can buy them yourself, most genuine ones go for about 20-30 quid. * +
