I dont have much trust in these drive health tools. I have a samsung 960 evo from 2017 that still shows 100percent health. It has been constantly in use as a boot drive. One thing to check with the nvme ssd-s is that there not running hot constantly. Those slots under gpus go hot and can degrade cheaper drives. I have a cheap 512 nvme running under the gpu for downloads and that thing is constantly in the red zone with temps. Its not even a gen 4 drive that gets hot. * +

I would not worry about the life cycle of the ssd. I still have all my ssd-s running that i have bought thru the years. Earliest is from 2012 so 9 years old. If its not faulty then it will go for many years. Propably will outlive that hp laptop as that brand has a serious failure rate. Mostly to do with cooling. Just keep it dust free and dont fry it in a blanket. * +

I'm not much of PC user, isn't a boot drive gonna be pretty much read only ? it's write cycles that kill drives. * +
