What is your budget ? I am a keen photographer with plenty of experience using multiple systems . I currently have a canon 5dmk 3 ,Fuji xt2 and a Fuji x100s and a Sony rx100 all different cameras for different situations it all depends on what you expect . If you are looking at a cheap well made camera that will blow away any smart phone in image quality then it has to be the Sony rx100 * +

around 100 to 150 pounds yea i like the look of that sony rx100 just want a better cam than a phone with good zoom and at least 20mp quality amazon are selling that for 69pounds atm but its only 5 times zoom * +

i plumped for sony w830 20mp 8xzoom at 79pnds at argos has many features to seems excellent....i want 20mp as lower seems to be lower quality shots i mean my iphone is 12mp not bad photos but want better and prefer a dedicated camera rather than just rely on phone * +

More megapixels in a small sensor mean more noise in poor lighting conditions and higher iso if you understand that . But even a cheap camera is better than a poxy phone camera regardless of what Samsung / apple say * +
