Thought about doing it but unless you are getting free electric it's not worth doing * +

I used to do it, I still got my miner but unplugged it as it wasn't worth the effort as noreaga says unless you got free electric or a 100 tb miner then it's not worth doing. The Russians and Chinese moved in with mining farms with thousands of tb miners and basically killed the btc mining for small businesses. You can of course mine for the newer coins in the hope that they take off. When doge coin first started you would get around 10000 per find now they are worth about 5 dollars each * +

i still got it in the cupboard, its a 7.5gb butterfly labs ASIC unit. It's a little too noisey to run in our small flat at the moment. When we move if we have a spare room i will set it up to mine some of the newer coins. You need 1000s of Tb of hashing power to make anything on BTC these days. I bought a 24 hour contract of a 250tb miner about 6 months ago and earnt about 0.56p from it lol.gif * +

Early adopters/miners won big... They did it for the lols because nobody believed that crypto currency was going anywhere and now they have the last laugh. * +
