The progression is the issue tho. Ppl will listen and buy a i5 on your suggestion to play on for 5 years but will have issues in the next 2 years because the industry is moving forward. The ryzen parts will do just fine when the shift comes. Mentioning the amount of threads is useless i could say a xeon with 24 cores cant beat a i3 in counter strike and that is the same kind of false comparison.

They won't have issues though. Tests prove once again Ryzen isn't much of a gaming CPU. 8 threads is really as many as you need for nearly every game. * +

The stutter is there according to those reviewers. It might be just windows using some of the cpu on background causing it because of the lack of cores.

It's nonsense spread by idiotic reddit users with no basis in fact or hard evidence to prove it, like frame time tests with the CPU that show nothing. * +

For those who buy new i5 yes but bad luck for 6600k and 7600k users and older. The ones who bought non K chips will suffer even more not being able to overclock either.

If you really want to know the users that had the REAL bad luck it is the people that dropped a crap load of money recently on X99 and any Intel 6 core. Mainly because Ryzen's 6 cores have the clocks to challenge Intel's 6 cores and are a lot cheaper.

Whereas Ryzen's top end quads don't look any cheaper or faster than a 7600K.

So anyone spending like 300-350 pounds on a 7600K and board that is pretty much what a 1500X Ryzen quad core will cost anyway without being particularly faster.

But if you bought a low end Intel 6 core and a decent X99 board then you probably spent at least 650 pounds.

The Ryzen 1600 and a good board will be like 400 quid and at least as fast. 7600K owners can feel fine for what they paid, Intel 6 core owners however.... * +

The worst part of ryzen seems to be the latency between core sets that propably drags the gaming performance down. Rumors say the 4 core will be 2+2 also so that might suffer also. * +
