Yes it does. Skylake is clearly optimised for DDR4.

i7 6700k launch benchmarks were often tested with DDR3 or just 2133mhz as I said, which is why it seemed to not be a lot faster than 4970k.

However here you can see the effects of faster memory. DDR4 3200mhz is cheap now and the gains are impressive.

In several games for a little extra RAM speed you get really nice minimum framerate gains. In the likes of photoshop or handbrake the extra memory speed gives massive leaps! * +
