other plug in software allows you to tune in and downlink telemitry data from aircraft in the area they are squalking out all the time. listen to the local CB folks nattering, tune into your fave radio station or even better download and decode live digital tv all from your laptop or pc and a half decent zagi antenna * +

I got the AOR in the end cos SSB is availabe throughout the whole range. Ive just got an SDR dongle for digital comms but havnt had chance to set it up yet and also got a CS750 for DMR. there are a few software bugs on the 750 now cos its so new, but I everywhere I tried had sold out of the CS700 * +

of course DMR radios have no VFO so you cant just scan for active frequencies, everything has to be progammed in, but once it is you can set the radio to scan the channels. I did have x3 faulty TYT 380s! So gave up and went for connect systems in the end. I could never justify the price of the motorolas far too expensive, but a lot of hams seem to like the CS radios. *
