Don't open that can of worms. The best is highly subject to personal opinion without regard to any facts.
AVG and Avast is pretty popular because they have free versions. Though I prefer Microsoft Security Essentials myself. Many people hate it, but I think that is because a lot of people have pirated versions of Windows. * +

Microsoft Security Essentials works on pirated version, i know this because I've used it. I have bit defender on my pc but tbh no antivirus will protect you from stupidity. * +
