I would avoid anything running RT because Microsoft are going to ditch RT completely which will hinder future support. you cant use the same programs that you run on your desktop or laptop anyway cos RT is only designed to work with Arm based processors meaning it cant run standard x86 windows programs. * +

no the desktop version of windows 8 wont run on computers designed to use RT because the arm hardware is not compatible. The same goes for windows xp, windows vista and windows 7 * +

the only thing you will run on that is android or maybe another linux based operating system, but the latter has no guarantee of success. * +
