If you gotta mac you could try XCODE. If you have a windows pc you could try CODE BLOCKS. These are free c compilers. also google to find C tutorials and example code. * +

a good C++ compiler is the GNU G++ which is available for windows as part of MINGW or DJGPP. microsoft visual C++ is another one but it is cr*p especially 2010 which is not ISO C++ compliant. * +

bloodshed will be good if your student or starting out with OOP programming in C++ but Eclipse or Netbeans will do just the amount of work *
