i had a gigabyte mobo that died on me but unfortunately i had a recovery image of my windows xp on my hard drive using gigabyte recovery.now my hard drive is half the size partition managers cant seem to 'see' the recovery bit.is there a partition manager that will be able to remove this recovery partition as its well over 40gb? *

You should probably use the recovery software to open the disc image which is contained in your recovery partition. Partition managers usually cannot open a disc image because that is not part of their function. *
