hey good people,i just upgraded my motherboard n cpu from a p4 3.0ghz with a gigabyte mobo to a core2duo 2.8 with msi mobo,now when i tested with my old os installation it booted fine but ot has problem reading my music n playin it,nw should i reinstall my os or can i go another route without having to redo everything?n is x32 fine or do i nid x86?thnx in advance. * +

The two versions are actually 32 bit and 64 bit. I think 32 bit should suffice. And get Windows 7. * +

if problem is only of playing music files then just reinstall the media software u are using ,i think the new media drivers is conflicting with ur old one * +

x86 = 32bit * +

x86 is architecture, and 32bit 64bit are the types of the os. There are x86 chips which support 16bit os, so saying that x86 is 32 bit is wrong. * +

thanx for the replies,i cant afford windows 7,so i guess its to reinstalling the meda players.funny thing is it only affects music n not videos n sometimes i have problems accesing my other drives(not the 1 with the instalation)gives a 'not enough resources to access' message. *
