Not a chance he's only getting 180k a week, after tax maybe, he was on silly money at Monaco which is a tax haven don't forget. He's not going to take a massive pay cut earn less than Rooney, Di Maria and RVP for no CL footy!

Yes there is a good chance, he was desperate to leave. BEFORE it was confirmed he would go to United a day ago it was said he was willing to halve his wages. Which is how he got linked to Arsenal as that was the only way they would have had a chance. * +

We'll see. That's just one report. Most of the others say less. But it's only a loan for now, not sure what the terms might be later if it becomes permanent next summer. Reality is, RvP might be struggling for fitness and may not quite be the same again. He was not a long term buy.

He cost 24m, but paid it all back with the title that season easily. * +
