Sadly looks like he isnt going to recover from this accident . 98 percent never recover any brain function from this injury * +

It depends how severe it is. If it is very bad then yeah, few people recover and those that do never fully. If he comes out and able to live his life after it's already a win. He's young, he's fit, the medical team got there fast and he had surgery immediately.

Have to just wait and see much like Schumacher. I wonder if we'll ever get to see him, it's been 9 months and the most recent news is good. * +

As has been said the root of this particular incident was that everyone pretty much drives at 95pc on waved yellows. Having more safety cars would just hinder the flow of races and corrupt the fairness of results because everyone gets bunched up. Maybe having an automatic 50pc rev setting on the cars when yellows are waved is an option. * +

That in itself could cause safety problems, imagine the race leaders are unaware of an accident happening further down the field and are going flat out through some high-speed corner when suddenly they are reduced to 50'/. power. * +

It's nearly impossible to drive an F1 car at 50 percent revs.. The slower they travel, the less control they have over them because there's no down force.. The tyres would cool rapidly too, which would lead to even more problems * +

A simpler solution is having more cranes behind the barriers that can reach to lift cars away without sending recovery vehicles there. Monaco has several at key corners. Particularly on circuits with small run offs like Suzuka which in itself is an old style circuit. You could probably have a larger mobile crane behind that corner than can reach.

If it can't, then you may have to send in the safety car or force slower speeds on yellow flags. The old enclosed c*ckpit idea comes back but it still has problems. How do you guarantee it doesn't jam closed and cause more problems?

This is only the most recent thing with recovery vehicles. A marshal was killed in Canada a couple years ago run over by one. Accidents happen. * +

No such word as accident anymore .try telling the police and insurance company's that .you will find that someone is at fault for this . Nod * +
