LvG says two positions, seems pretty clear he means a centre back and an attacker. Just get Otamendi, Madrid are no more going to sell United Ramos than United are going to sell them De Gea for the stupidly low bids they have tried on. They can have him for nothing in a year, at least United can settle a new defence and midfield then change the keeper scouted for all this time later.

It's not about the money any more. It's as much about status IMO. Madrid were being smug and naming players before they get them. United reportedly were extremely p*ssed at that. De Gea is on a relatively low wage for his last year so United are kind of 'saving' millions on that as it is, and if he helps United to a title fight or Champions League run he's earnt more for the club than what Ma.drid were going to pay for him * +

United are under no illusions that he will walk for nothing in 12 months, it's just they don't actually care at this stage. Either Madrid meet the terms or they wait. Madrid have thought they could treat United like they would Getafe or something all along, and have been told in no uncertain terms where to get off * +

It's like PSG with Di Maria too, the french press were reporting it's a done deal, he's off in the middle of the week. Now they are saying United are asking for a price they don't want to pay, and that United are and I quote 'greedy'

As if somehow United have an obligation to sell and need the money or something. * +
