One in a million injury where the ball compressed an artery in his neck so much it split open and bled uncontrollably. Rendered him unconscious in seconds.

He'll play again, but not for a long time. It'll have badly damaged his appetite for competition but he'll soon realise that it's not really his fault and Hughes accepted the same (admittedly tiny) risks as he does in order to play the sport he is good at and loves.

He'll reason it through with help. *
