These two rivals will meet against each other for the first time in a competitive match since 1998. They will play in the fourth round tie of the FA cup. *

Just to give a little background on the fixture. There are three big teams in Gloucestershire; Cheltenham Town, Forest Green Rovers and Gloucester City.
Gloucester and Cheltenham are major rivals, having played over 200 competitive games between them, but haven't played since 1997.

Forest Green Rovers consider Gloucester City to be their major rivals, despite a little over 50 competitive games between the two and we haven't played each other since 1998.

However, it is what has happened recently that has stirred this up. You see, Forest Green have a eco-millionaire called Dale Vince who took over the side in 2010, and has since given them the highest budget in the Conference. They have players like Jon Parkin and Lee Hughes who make more in one week than Gloucester City's entire squad. It is nuts.

But, FGR's home of Nailsworth, only has a population of 6,500. Gloucester is nearing 150,000. So, he wants to move Forest Green to a site on the edge of Gloucester called Javelin Park that has caused uproar from both clubs. He basically wants to steal potential City fans.

Another factor is that Gloucester have been homeless since 2007, and groundshared at Forest Green, a year that caused immense strife between the two. Now, we share at Cheltenham Town.

And behold, we are drawn against each other in the FA Cup. Both fans are extraordinarily up for it.

Gloucester City are HUGE underdogs going in. They are 21st in the Conference North. Forest Green are going for promotion in the Conference, but if they caused an upset, it would be among the greatest moment's in their history. *

lol.gif@Big teams. I suppose compared to Willand Rovers, the lowest ranked team left in the competition, they might be. They're from the 9th tier and have been drawn at home to either Maidenhead Utd or Gosport Borough. *

Well Gloucester a couple of days ago were given council permission to build a 6,000 seater stadium, according to the Gloucester Citizen,so they won't be homeless much longer. Gloucester is a rugby city anyway, but the new stadium will help build up the football club. *
