mass storage will be fine but apps installed there will be broken as they have files still stored on c drive.... * +

U sure? Coz I have important stuff on the mass storage? What is happening is that the phone vibrates 3 times shows Nokia and goes off again * +

I formatted a couple of times when I had my n8. I wondered the same thing myself the first time.
you don't want to be doing it while the battery is critically low. let it charge for a good while then try to turn it on again. it sounds bricked tho, something that might require a PC and some reading before you can fix it. * +

try the 3 key again when fully charged. the rom is copied over from the Z drive so if it went wrong the first time you might still fix it with another try... * +
