Subject: Why is God Father and Son
manszar 31.07.16 - 09:11am
its interesting how the word image does not mean image in Genesis but does in pretty much everywhere else in the bible.
Genesis 5:3 When Adam had lived 130 years, he had a son in his own likeness, in his own image; and he named him Seth.
Exodus 20:4 You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below
Deuteronomy 4:16 Lest ye corrupt yourselves, and make you a graven image, the similitude of any figure, the likeness of male or female
2 Kings 3 And he wrought evil in the sight of the Lord; but not like his father, and like his mother: for he put away the image of Baal that his father had made.
2 Chronicles 3;10And in the most holy house he made two cherubims of image work, and overlaid them with gold.
there are just to many to list but im sure you will ignore the point * +

what is the point of god blinding those that are unbelieving. isnt the point of the bible to help those that can not see. * +

2 Corinthians 4:2 Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to everyone's conscience in the sight of God,,,,, * +

The image does not always mean a physical look but also characteristics. Whats common to certain icon. Im not arguing about wether we were made to look like God or not but its clear we are in likeness not straight copy. This topic was going to a place were it was mentioned why we all look different and how can God look like all of us. Also it went to how He has the same dna and all our weaknesses ilnesses etc. Its clear the angels look like us but there far different actually. My point wasnt that oh He didnt look like a human rather straight not a human at all. He might of looked similar but its not the point. The point is the character in Whose likeness we were made before our character got corrupted. Its clear we look similar to angels and also the Son of God but its not the point in that verse etc. * +

The point in that verse etc is satan blinding ppl thru there l*st for sin unable to see the truth by doing it. A flesh driven human will always choose contrary to spirit driven human who will avoid what makes them feel better to rather whats good overall. Sin makes ppl blind. Clear example is alcoholism. A person in it will not fully get or deep inside avoid the negatives against that action. A person enjoying sleeping around will not understand the point of marriage with one person. Does not make sense to them etc. Person enjoing his/her freedom to sin an having there own authority will not go to Christ. The bible does help those who do not see but they have to get to the point in understanding were they stand is not firm. A guilty consious with the will to change will have its pages open and making sense. * +

what we see in the text is the words image and likeness. both words are clearly not used to refer to the same thing. so one is most defiantly used as outer appearance. * +

phew so God does not blind people. thats good to know. and all those Muslims who are without a doubt more devoted to God than most Christians see the truth. * +
