Anybody who knows anything about Syrian history would know that there were thousands of syrians who because of atrocoties comitted by assad's father would be seeking for any excuse to attack the regime.The arab uprising was that excuse

Assads father is a different man, its stupid to blame the son for the fathers deeds, rebels they cant blame assad for what his father did or justify any agression based upon it, all they had was here an now and that turned out to be a whipped up dog turd.. * +

If there are years of aggression then yes there can be a huge backlash some day. Same family same laws. You cannot say the son knew nothing of what his father did. And it happened. The backlash came. Everyone has seen footage from the conflict and what the lassad is capable of. * +

I doubt very much this is a clear case of opressive regime beats down the people, its more of tagetting militant factions on the cites of alepo, homs an damascus, not the whole population of civilians, the factions funded by foreign intrests destroyed ppls homes fighting between power struggles.. Backlash was funded an staged.. * +
