Prayer is a communication between human and God. As for Christianity we pray in Christs name as He is the Mediator. But asking something from God has to be done according by His will as He has foreknowledge and a just eye to make the right decision. Sometimes by our short sight we dont always pray for the right thing. If you truly live by Gods way and are mistreated in life you can be calm knowing the evil will be brought to justice. Therefor we dont seek for revenge. Also the timing and influence on other things counts. * +

Fasting (if done properly) can have many, many, many health benefits for the body and brain. It doesn't speed up prayers. It speeds up many other things, including the rebuilding of cells. It can also help reduce illnesses like diabetes etc . * +
