Telling Peter to walk on water in face of strong wind would look like a joke. But Peter actually walk on the water only it stop being fun when he began to sink... Jesus never make an empty joke if it could be called a joke at all!

you mean, he just walked through a puddle that was a bit deeper than first thought, kind of like noah parting the red sea but that was just a path revealed when the tide went out or the burning bush, signifying someone on an acid trip. i suppose you could class that as metaphorical humour *
