That's the biological organ. I haven't yet come across a concise definition for the sociological/psychological Heart. * +

Follow your heart and follow your gut are often being used interchangeably. Therefore, in this context, heart means your intuitions and/or inner feelings which are often used to decide what is right or wrong. The word heart in this case is deeper than surface emotions which are subjected to external or physical stimuli.

Feelings precede thoughts. The rational mind acts as an interpreter of feelings/intuitions. *
