I've read the phrase uttered by a shaman that the spirit is the mind in it's purest form which kinda scans with the modern interpretation and usage of the word.
I find the notion that our presence here is no more than a chemical accident a little defeatist and probably very deep down fear driven. for anything beyond such a view to possible something of us must endure beyond the psychical... * +

Interesting take on it mel. I think some people feel spirit and soul are the same thing,or that the soul is some form of eternal personality that is the true ''me''. * +

not sure which is which... soul i'd say is ur personality, ur thoughts, feelings, beliefs... Spirir is what lives on long after u have gone. * +

everyone got soul but few got spirit.spirit has got to do with your relationship with God.Non believers are said to be spiritually dead. * +
