Subject: Aggressive Atheism?

I'm not religious at all but I'm finding that people who call themselves atheists are sometimes as extreme about not believing as those in religious groups, to the point of violence sometimes. Is this really the way forward? Why can't everyone just respect each others beliefs, or lack of them?

Personally I consider myself Agnostic as the word itself means I don't know. I'm happy not knowing it lets me think more critically and be open minded :)
People have been doing horrible things to each other based on their beliefs for thousands of years it seems so pointless. * +

Theres allways been atheists who believe theres nothing afterward especially no God. Stalin was a atheist who happened to read darwins book look what that ended up to be. * +
