Mecca does not promote itself as a tourist destination, since you will find there none of the things which most tourists are looking for on a holiday. The holy city of Mecca, is not a place for tourism, but for Muslims, surrounded by the sanctity of other muslims there for the same reason, to bow down in worship to their Creator.
Although I personally don't see any harm should any non-muslim want to visit, provided they not there to ridicule,disrespect or disrupt the religious pilgrimage of others. * +
