If this made the news there would be hope. But it wont so these significant gestures will always be unseen. The conflict has a lot do do with the world wide community, it is a religious issue more than a humanitarian one. There are far greater humanitarian crisis's than Israel/Palestine. This is just at the forefront because of 2 books and some bricks and mortar. * +

Disagree with a point made there, it is not a religious issue mostly, it has become a huge humanitarian issue, even whilst we post here, Israel has violently refused african refugee jews to leave the open aire prison it has them imprisioned in, to be it like Israel thumbing its nose to the whole world and anything good and decent as longs as Israel gets its way. * +

An act of goodness amid such a volatile situation. I do think that the liberators of the Palestinians not only could be, but must be the Jewish people. The international community have been languid and phlegmatic towards this for far too long, a few throwaway sound bites just isn't enough. The people of Israel must compel change. * +

And many do, they are labelled sellouts and are themselves harrased by the Israeli gov and ppl, a most famous name, Miko Peled comes to mind, his book The Generals Son is really a very enlightening read. There are so many others but ppl are not willing to hear them unfortunately. * +

The following speech was given by Jews for Justice in Palestine, a Chicago-based collective working in solidarity with Palestinians in their struggle against Israeli occupation, at anemergency protest on Saturday. The demonstration was held to protest Israeli escalation in the West Bank and Gaza and the international medias biased reporting on the events on the ground.

Salaam Alaikum. Thank you for inviting Jews for Justice in Palestine to speak. We are honored to stand with the Palestinian community and to join protests the world over on this solemn day.
