But the luke 3:23 says.... (KJV) ''And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, which was the son of Heli......''. (ASV) ''And Jesus himself, when he began to teach, was about thirty years of age, being the son (as was supposed) of Joseph, the son of Heli''. (RSV) ''Jesus, when he began his ministry, was about thirty years of age, being the son (as was supposed) of Joseph, the son of Heli''... All of them talking about Joseph * +

because the line was traced through the father, Joseph was his adopted father, but he was still from the bloodline of David on Mary's side. * +

Exactly, and had the legal right to the throne of David. Besides being called ''the Son of man'', Jesus was also called ''Son of David''- Matthew 21:9, 22:42 * +
